About me

I’m Dave, a professional male in my mid forties.

Sidequest is a term used by some people with ADHD, to refer to tasks started by accident when they’re meant to be doing something else. The something else is undoubtedly more important, but the sidequest is undoubtedly more interesting, challenging, novel, or urgent.

I’ve been doing this all my life but didn’t realise the extent and depth to which I did was pretty far outside the norm. A few years back I had the realisation that I am actually autistic with ADHD, and my whole life suddenly made sense. This isn’t the clichéd self-diagnosed from seeing a video on social media; I’ve spent thousands of hours researching this and everything fits.

My sidequest interests can require a significant level of technical expertise as the only thing that tends to cause them to stall is another interest taking its place. The problem with doing such complex things is there can be a lot of jargon involved. It’s my aim with this website to present really difficult subjects in more accessible language, for your entertainment, education and even so you might try them yourself if you wanted to.
